Summary:

Benny, a boy with Mosaic Down syndrome, lives in a retirement home run by his mother and has an eighty-six-year-old best friend, Mr. Tom. When he moves to a mainstream classroom, his classmates tease him for his differences, except for Salma, a new girl who is tech-savvy, speaks Arabic, and plays basketball. When several residents of the retirement home, including Salma's grandmother, are robbed, Benny and Salma team up to catch the thief.
