The Dorman-Marshbourne letters : with brief accounts of the tenth and fifty-third Georgia regiments, C.S.A. Cover Image Book Book

The Dorman-Marshbourne letters : with brief accounts of the tenth and fifty-third Georgia regiments, C.S.A. / compiled, edited and with an introduction by John W. Lynch.

Lynch, John W. (Author).

Summary:

The Dorman-Marshbourne Letters reveal a previously untold story of a Georgia family's experiences during the War Between the States. All of the individuals on the front cover have a role in this story of love, war, tragedy, and family loyalty. Although the more closely associated inner circle of family members have a more prominent role in the central story, the Confederate personalities of the outer circle and their association with this family and with each other complete the remaining story. The story is interwoven with well known, as well as obscure, events and battles which shape a history of the military units to which each belonged. This unique regimental history, bolstered by these unpublished family letters, is another saga to be added to the unending chronicles of one of the most written about periods of American history.
