Summary:

When a massive crack in the earth's crust brought on by a horrible earthquake causes deadly gas to erupt from deep within the earth's core, it is up to a geologist and his family to save the world by stopping the crack from spreading and the gas from getting into a nearby cave system that would destroy the planet.
