Alexander kin, by Charles C. & Virginia W. Alexander.
Seven Alexander brothers emigrated from Scotland (via northern Ireland) to settle in Cecil County, Maryland. Some sources indicate they lived first in Somerset County, Maryland, and others that they moved to Maryland from Northampton County, Virginia. The seven brothers (and their birthdates) were: William (1646); Andrew (1648); James (1652); Francis (1654); Samuel (1657); Joseph (1660); and John (1662). This work is chiefly concerned with the weaver, James Alexander (born 1652), and his son Moses Alexander (died 1762). Descendants and relatives also ived in Alabama, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and elsewhere.
