Historical collections of the Joseph Habersham Chapter, Daughters American Revolution / Edited by Mrs. William Lawson Peel.

Summary:

In 1901 and 1902, the Joseph Habersham chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution published a weekly genealogy advice column in the Atlanta Sunday Constitution. These columns, which contained family sketches, genealogies, transcriptions of court records, lists of marriages, military records, pedigrees, and so forth, were later published in three hardcover volumes. Vol. 2 contains numerous references to pioneering Georgians, as evidenced by its name index to 5,000 individuals. Vol. 3 contains genealogical data, mainly of Georgia but also relating to South Carolina. Arranged by counties, the data consist of juror lists, deeds, bonds, wills, marriage records, headrights, and other matters.--From publisher description.
